Welcome to the 2023 SBA Conference

The 2023 conference theme is Shade Tree Blacksmithing. Celebrating the process of bringing smiths together to exchange knowledge and experience in blacksmithing.

The 20th bi-annual 2023 Southeastern Blacksmith Association (SBA) Conference will be held at the Lion’s Club Fair Grounds in Madison, Georgia, Thursday May 18th through Saturday May 20th, 2023.

Our 2023 demonstrator lineup will include: Steve Williamson and Matt Jenkins

5/4/2023 UPDATE – Liam Hoffman is unable to attend – Steve Williamson will be a lead demonstrator.

Other conference events will include Green Coal classes, family programs, the Local Talent Forge, Iron in the Hat, forge and tool box raffles, a variety of vendors, our Friday night Banquet, Auction, and Forging Competition – plus other surprise events along the way! 

The Florida Artist Blacksmith Association will be hosting this three day homecoming event.

ABANA National Curriculum Grading for Level I, II, & III at 2023 SBA Conference

Ron Nichols and Frank Annighofer will onsite at the conference to grade/judge submissions of Beginner Level 1 – Latch, Intermediate Level II – Grille, and Advanced Level III – Grille under the ABANA National Curriculum.

Anyone interested in submitting a grille for grading should contact Ron Nichols so that a certificate may be prepared in advance. Please contact – info@sbaconference.org for Ron Nichols contact information.
